1) How did you find out about affiliate marketing and what inspired you to pursue this field?
I discovered affiliate marketing years ago while looking for ways to work from home. I had been involved in network marketing, but I was never particularly good at it. So in my search for remote work, I stumbled upon digital marketing, and it was there that I almost simultaneously found affiliate marketing. To be honest, it wasn't an instant inspiration; it actually took some time before I made my first recommendation. But after seeing that the results were real, I continued down that path. Initially, I wanted to find some extra income from home, but now, affiliate marketing is becoming a part of my profession and passion.
2) What were the main strategies you used to succeed as an affiliate? Could you share some valuable tips or insights for those who are starting out?
Honestly, it has been a process of long learning. Partly because my mind was scattered among many other things when I started. More recently, I have become even more focused, but I believe that the key to my success has always been helping other people and putting my attention on them.
For those who are just starting out, I recommend using the products they will be promoting. In my case, with Builderall, I focus on promoting their tools. I am familiar with most of them, and even if I don't directly need them, I study new tools and features, try them out, reach out to support, and provide recommendations for improvement, among other things. This way, I can offer better assistance to people who trust me. Additionally, I advise sending valuable content, not just affiliate links. You can create tutorials, offer tips and strategies to help people in their businesses. This builds loyalty and keeps people with you for a long time, and they may even recommend you.
Another important piece of advice is to seek techniques for focus and actually apply them. You can't please everyone or do everything. In my case, I use a technique called "UNITEMA," which means focusing on a single theme. It also serves as a mnemonic device to remember what I should concentrate on, and I may share more about this in the future.
Lastly, I recommend not giving up. The hardest part is getting started, but as you progress, the path becomes smoother, even if it doesn't always seem that way.
3) How do you choose the products or services to promote as an affiliate? Is there any specific criteria you follow?
I only promote relevant products and services that I personally use because it allows me to test and validate their value, ensuring that my audience can perceive the integrity in my recommendations. I also evaluate new affiliate opportunities that solve real problems and help people address genuine needs or difficulties, whether in their business or daily life. It is crucial that these products and services are of high quality, as promoting anything less could harm my reputation. Another important aspect is that they are profitable and scalable. I seek opportunities that are not only beneficial for myself, but that I can also share with others to assist them in their own growth.
4) What is your opinion on the future of affiliate marketing? Do you think there is still a lot of room to grow and innovate in this area?
I believe that affiliate marketing will continue to grow and attract more people, especially as artificial intelligence eliminates jobs and individuals seek alternative ways to generate income. It is an excellent option for remote and flexible work. As affiliate marketing evolves due to new technologies, we will see more opportunities for innovation.
One positive trend I observe is the integration of AI and automation. AI is likely to help scale affiliate marketing businesses by reducing friction and allowing a focus on more strategic tasks. Furthermore, people will demand ethical affiliate marketers who prioritize more than just their commissions. Transparency will be crucial in building trust. Additionally, for sustainable growth, affiliate marketing should be based on products that solve real problems and add value to customers. This will make recommendations more reliable and appealing. In my opinion, affiliate marketing has a bright future as long as it remains centered around integrity, ethics, and value for people. I definitely see potential for significant growth and innovative disruption.
5) How do you manage your affiliate network and communicate with them? What are the key characteristics you look for in an affiliate to work together?
I try to be very open to direct and frequent communication with my affiliates. I try to be available to answer questions, offer help, and solve problems as quickly as possible. And I always try to meet with them in person or virtually and address challenges together. As for the characteristics I look for in my affiliates, it's mainly that they're willing to learn and work.
